The MLI MetalMAX family of products has been in continuous development for over 30 years. It is used by most manufacturing industries – such as aerospace and defense, medical, transportation, consumer products, etc. – and by machine tool manufacturers and tool manufacturers.
MetalMAX is a necessity for those who want to optimize their machining performance, improve product quality while significantly reducing machining setup times and costs, and significantly decreasing machinery maintenance costs.
MLI MetalMAX offers the most comprehensive suite of tools for Dynamic Machine-Tool Characterization, specifically developed and dedicated to the analysis and optimization of machining vibrations.
MLI MetalMAX maximizes a Machine-Tool's productivity with diagnostic tools that make fast, accurate cutting performance predictions. It allows to optimize production output by identifying the optimal process parameters (cutting depths, speeds, feed rates), without the need for long and expensive trial and error testing campaigns.
Complete package for measuring and analyzing the frequency response of a system
Fully streamlined frequency measurement and analysis package; cutting performance analyzer of tools, components, fixtures, machine-tools and structures; generates process parameter constraint maps (PPCM/Stability Diagrams); calculates modal parameters; qualifies machine dynamics.
Tool for Vibration monitoring, analysis, tracking and optimization of cutting process
Vibrations monitoring, analysis and tracking of cutting process with Audio or Vibration sensor; Resonance and Chatter detection plus correction. Available for multiple platforms: portable, PC-based, or Machine-Tool NC-fixed.
Specialized in-process multi-channel vibration data acquisition and analysis package
Collects and analyzes multi-channel vibration data acquired during the processes using any type of sensor; allows complete monitoring and frequencies analysis on the machine tool or on the workpiece during machining, including chatter frequencies, resonance frequencies, calculation of velocity, displacements and forces; evaluates spindle dynamic health and efficiency, including bearings frequency analysis, spindle balance and other vibration behavior.
Milling Simulation Software
Milling Simulation; It uses time-based simulation models; It uses inputs from direct measurements or from calculation of the frequency response (FRF - Frequency Response Function) from TXF or SPA respectively.
Finite element dynamic analysis software
Allows finite element dynamic analysis of the spindle and of the cutting systems; analyzes cutting performance based on calculation models rather than measurements.
Software option for the automated analysis and optimization of milling machining parameters
Our easy-to-use, subscription-based tap-testing software option that automates the analysis process and outputs an interactive visualization of tool performance, the Tool Dashboard. Ideal for testing, comparing and fine-tuning milling tools

We offer several training programs and options to help you master our solutions.
Our online seminars provide basic information about MetalMAX instruments and specific usage of hardware and software, as well as presentations, industry application examples and case studies based on your specific interests and goals.
Basic introductory training option, delivered online or live at your facility, to help you get started using MetalMAX hardware and software effectively and productively.
Comprehensive online Video Training lessons Option
Specialized and In-Depth Training Courses
Our most cost-effective option, remote training is preferred by users who want to maximize learning time and reduce travel costs. Our web-based training will incorporate live video and screenshare technology to ensure the learning experience is effective and efficient.
On-site training at your facility allows you to use your own machines, tools and components. By training with your own equipment and processes, MetalMAX technologies are well understood and implemented effectively and quickly.
With project consulting, training is delivered by addressing a specific problem or project. Companies choose this option when they want to understand how the technology will be used in their facility and the results that can be achieved. This option is often chosen as a first step towards full MetalMAX implementation to help companies get started with a "pilot" project, which also allows them to understand how to effectively introduce the technology into their processes and procedures.
Training is also available at MLI's Chicago, Illinois training facility, located in the center of the United States, easily accessible to all international customers.
